Still surrounded by bright white background, message pane is dark and sidebar is dark, rest is white

Sitewide or limited to a specific forum?

And for clarification, you have enabled site-wide settings from your user settings? I'll try to replicate it on my end.

I second this. It's actually something I've thought about a few months ago while looking at Gfycat links. Given a decently sized dictionary of adjectives and nouns, I suppose joining just two or three would yield plenty of unique and memorable usernames.

For example:

  • ADJ + N
  • ADJ + N + N
  • ADJ + ADJ + N

I believe that mixing adjectives and nouns would prevent generated usernames from becoming an outright word–salad and maybe give them some nonsensically playful quality.

By the way, hi.

Any way to get an option to select what we want to load when we come to Ramble? as of right now it seems it is defaulted to subscribed forums with no option to change from that.

Already a feature. :)

In the sidebar of any forum you frequent, you can 'subscribe' to it. You'll see the button under the title of the forum in the sidebar. You can also unsubscribe from any forum as well.

The default forums are visible to all regardless if they're subscribed, unless you start subscribing to other forums. Then you can sub to the defaults directly.

You can also change how the front page looks to you from your User Settings. Click on your username and go to "User Settings" in the menu. From there you can select how you want your front page to look. You can choose, "Featured" (default), "Subscribed" (forums you subscribe to), "All" (All forums, even ones you probably don't want to see) or "Moderated" (only forums that you moderate). You can also choose the default sorting by "Hot", "New" or "Active".

DDOS filtering is done at the network level, so I'm not worried about that. I've just used Cloudflare for years and have gotten used to it's ease of use for DNS hosting and quick on the fly SSL cert setups.

I'll seek out an alternative and add that to the list, as well as changing the SSL cert since it's issued by CF as well.

Give me a few days, until then use any of the viable alternative methods.

Okay, should be fixed now.

Turns out an upgrade on my end borked the path to some keyfiles.

The good news is I learned a good lesson on how to prevent it in the future and a learned a better practice than that of the default router's handling of these.

A better appearance is on the to-do list in the future.

Right now each forum has the option to choose between a few per-determined themes that came pre-packaged with the software that powers this site. Some are more... visually intrusive than others, I agree.

For now, you can go to your user settings (menu under your name) and de-select, Let forums override preferred theme

That way you'll be served the default theme, which has a black toolbar. Combined with darkmode that will hopefully hold you over until some visual updates can be pushed out.
