To be clear, it's great that Maduro has free speech (even though he won't allow his own citizens to have it). He is welcome here on this site, as far as I'm concerned. It's hypocritical that some people have free speech while people "guilty" of lesser thought crimes are banned.

As far as I know there's a stabbing everyday. Maybe more. You don't usually hear of this in normal news channels since it's too common to be news. There could be something like the weather channel, but for stabbings. But I guess nobody wants that, since the perpetrators are seldomly white.

Lemmy has a built-in "slurs" filter that blocks you from posting dozens of "slurs" (including words like twat). It is very free speech-unfriendly software.

I feel kind of bad for the guy. He seems universally disliked by those on the right and the left.

On the right, he is letting anarchist run rampant in his city and they're doing a ton of damage to property and genuinely being little terroristic assholes.

On the left, he isn't doing enough to bend the knee and give in to whatever their demands are for that particular day. I mean, they literally set fire to his apartment complex that he lives in and harass him anytime he's in public.

Guy is in a bad spot with his constituents, I'd say.

I saw the surveillance videos and it's pretty horrifying. The only thing I can compare it to is a pack of hyenas attacking a gazelle.

The only reason I chose Postmill over Lemmy was Lemmy doesn't function properly with javascript disabled.

It's certainly a better looking and better functioning site/software, but I didn't feel like forcing the use of javascript to interact with the site.
