So they did.

And then they still try to silence it.

Parler was just a republic echo chamber similar to how a lot of areas of the web are democrat echo chambers. Free speech should be defended at all costs even if you don't agree with it.

Luckily they can just colocate their own hardware because datacenters don't really give a fuck and aren't ran by SJWs since most dataceners aren't household names and would likely enjoy the press.

I don't have a Parler account and don't really want one, but this is a crazy world.

Hard guessing how much hardware a site like that takes to run, but rent a rack in a datacenter like Quadranet, setup some localized high availability, plenty of companies specialize in DDoS mitigation to help with that load. And they'd be set. The datacenter is unlikely to give a fuck what they're doing unless they're ruining the reputation of rented IP space, which they could always bring their own. The upstream bandwidth providers don't care. They build networks, they're not a bunch of SJWs.

Guess they can just colo some hardware or rent a fleet of dedicated servers. I'm not 'into' Parler but I support what it is. They should be allowed to exist, 110%.

Crazy world man. I wonder how much resources a site like that uses. Probably save them some money to just buy the hardware, rent a rack to colocate it in a datacenter because most DC's dont give a flying fuck what you're doing within reason since they're just providing the cabinet space, network connections and power/cooling. Not like the actual upstream bandwidth providers care, either.

Any account that doesn't need to be tied to me I deleted and made an anon account if I still wanted to use it. However, I think I would go insane seeking full anonymity/privacy; There are so many ways companies/people could track you if they desired and I still want to talk to my friends and go by my username that I've been going for by a good portion of my life. So I still keep a Discord, Telegram, Youtube, Steam account, etc.

I run Qubes OS to keep my digital life compartmentalized as well as for security; This lets me set up different network and firewall vms to run things like a tor gateway vm and vpn vm. For example, I have a separate crypto appvm which runs through a different firewall vpn and then through my tor vm to hide my IP. I also use Vivaldi as my main browser with Brave and hardened Firefox as my alt browsers.

I plan to install a custom rom or Linux on my phone since im still using the default one. I know I can still go deeper into the privacy rabbit hole but I think I am at a good point now.

Notes and octaves just seem like magic, or maybe colors and I'm colorblind.

I can't play any musical intsruments which is funny because my brother and my daughter are each good guitar players. My mother played piano. I've tried and I have manual dexterity but I've never had any luck.

Weird mental block of some sort.

Sure! Though I'd say just about any currency is fine to get started with. Keep in mind that you don't have to purchase an entire unit of a given currency - one Bitcoin may be $40k, but you can still just buy $10 worth (just be cautious of transfer fees, both withdrawing from exchanges and sending from your own wallet).

I'd recommend also looking at ETH (using MetaMask as an in-browser wallet to interact directly with websites is pretty cool) and XMR (dirt cheap transfers and your financial privacy is safe).

Learn an instrument. Don't pick based on your preference of what you'd think be cool to play. Pick something easy you can play melodies with. Drums don't work, no melody. Guitar doesn't work, it's really, really hard to play melodies with a guitar. Pretty much all string instruments are out because of this. The recorder is more or less as basic as it gets. And it's cheap. Which is why I recommend it. There ain't too many notes you can play with it, either, which helps with the theory part.

The reason music theory is intimidating to folks usually is because it's a foreign concept with little use. If you play an instrument you'll have use for it. It's like with a language, the simplest way to learn a foreign language is by using it to communicate. Not by reading books.

What do you want to understand, anyway?

Imo "normies" will be even more unaware of their privacy than they are now, whilst us and maybe more tech-savvy people will use alternative platforms and networks. btw I never understood the "surveillance=safe" equation, even irl. I mean, having cameras everywhere didn't make us safer...

P.S. why Mozilla can't shut up and harden firefox?
