They use "media savvy" and "sophisticated" to cover their seething hatred of viewers avoiding what they call "the interruptive advertising format." They then describe unobtrusive ad copy as a "disruptive" method of marketing: evoking "an enchanted state" where "customers create or string their own stories together" instead of being cajoled, shamed, insulted, denigrated, or simply condemned for their appearance and beliefs.

This is peak marketeer cope. I wonder then they'll discover improving products to improve customer confidence, but then that wouldn't really be marketing.

Is the joke that this entire website is blocked by my ad blocker, since it’s literally spam? The joke being that everyone has adblockers and doesn’t even see ads in the first place, that is.

It's not like Adobe gave up because of the security holes. Flash always had security holes. The way I remember the history Apple blocked Flash on their phones, which gave others an excuse to also kill Flash. It then only took an entire decade for Flash to finally disappear officially.

Wow. I never heard of "Ruffle". An experimental software meant to play files for Flash, which was so hopelessly insecure that the giant company Adobe gave up on maintaining it despite the black eye that gave them. What could possibly go wrong?

The wireless type that goes around your neck in one piece is superior while carrying loads, strapped to a bag, or twisting around. It tends to stay put or fall on your shoulder. You don't want to put the wired or wireless earbuds back in after they get yanked out and touch the ground.

Though that's easier to prevent with a wire you can clip to your shirt.

Actually, I prefer the old cheap style over-the-ear headphones regardless. Sometimes one pops up in a discount store, likely old stock getting cleared out.

I just got lost on their page for like 2 hours.

The site itself is well-made, the articles interesting (damn, now I want a boat too) and Devine is probably the only person on the planet using Plan 9 as his daily driver (nevertheless, based).

Webp is not any better than other formats (many say worse), less compatible, yet Google made it and promotes it and apparently does weird SEO blackmail behind the scenes for it. Question I have is why???

Tech companies only do things for one reason, and that reason is to spy on you. But how does Google spy on you with an unwanted image format?

And it looks like the commentators don't bother either. Back when I took a screenshot of the comments c. 2021-04-23T14:50+00:00, it showed one comment that mentioned shadow bans. I just checked both the YouTube video and the reddit post and that was the only comment I found, although I can't find it now.
