Reply to Pentagon imposed emergency shutdown of computer network handling classified material by Rambler
The system, known as the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network, handles classified information, up to the secret level, and was shuttered for several hours.
"This has never happened in the middle of a work day," one Pentagon official said. "Updates usually are done on weekends and after hours late at night. This was done on an emergency basis."
The shutdown applied only to computers handling the classified material, and was not imposed on other computers or on phone systems.

Was this a big market? How do you think that they were busted? That's not very common, is it?

That means that a top 20 website (in term of traffic) is only relying on Crypto Currencies; may not be noticeable in terms of market volume, but surely will as adoption.
Just hope Bitcoin doesn't turn from "the drug money" to "the porn money"...

Nice work, man!
Personally I try to use as less Google as possible.
Does anybody know if / how Iridium support add-ons?

Didn't realise there was so many alternatives to stuff people use on a daily basis, going to bookmark a few of these and start using them and throw Google out of my life, as I already have with the main social medias.
A great guide to this forum.

I'm using the onion site. Works fine with no javascript and loads fast.

Well my first project was going to be a pretty basic blog with only an admin backend for me to add new posts but I get what you're saying.

After having their business fucked by Visa/Mastercard, it's not surprising that they'd push more towards crypto.
Good move on their part.

Reply to Has anyone done a FOIA request on yourself recently? How long did it take to get back? by rm_rf
I've wanted to do this as well. Figured though if you weren't on anyone's radar before, then you will be now. I was a bit taken back when I deleted all my social media accounts earlier in the year and downloaded the data that they had collected on me. I'm sure the alphabet boys have more, though I'm not sure what all they'd share.

Just additional piece of mind, really.
If it's a personal site with no real way for visitors to interact with it beyond reading it's content, I'd say it's not that big of a deal. But if it's a website that allows users to sign in, stores data about them, etc open source is a good idea. As /u/txt said, it's best to know so it can be fixed and that proper procedures can be done.
But if it's just your personal site, where you publish some posts and that's it... I don't think it's a big deal to not publish the code personally because it's just your site and it'll only impact you if something is done wrong.

a good introduction into why PDFs are insecure: they have their own javascript and actionscript api that can run code inside of a PDF. it's basically not exaggerating an executable document format.
