[Solved] How to access .onion sites from I2P ? (cause : somehow I2Pd was running on startup as root)
Posted by invertedlurker in I2P (edited )
So I'm pretty new to this whole thing, I learned I2P basics (and I mean, really basic stuff), tried out both I2P and I2P+, eventually decided to stick with the latter. I've tried to access the official Tor project website or the Hidden Wiki .onion sites. That doesn't work, I always get "Host (insert long name here) not inside I2P network, but outproxy is not enabled". How can I get this to work ?
As a side note, I do not want to use anything outside of I2P itself or its ecosystem. That means no Tor browser if possible, because I might mess up and compromise my anonymity on accident.
Thanks in advance for helping !

If you disabled the default configured outproxy in your HTTP Proxy Client tunnel, you won't be able to access clearnet or .onion sites. In your HTTP Proxy tunnel, restore the
purokishi.i2p
outproxy for HTTP and HTTPS if you wish to access .onion sites over .i2p. You can configure multiple outproxies if you want some random variation, e.g.purokishi.i2p,exit.stormycloud.i2p,outproxy.acetone.i2p
.
