I wouldn't put the blame on the things he highlighted as not changing because of him. Sadly we've got big government republicans and democrats that get propped up in the media and receive an absurd amount of funding where other parties or individuals get ignored. It's hard for non-mainstream messaging to get out to the masses and for that to influence change in government.
It's sad that we don't have a pro-liberty, pro-fiscal responsibility, and an American first candidate. It's sad that none of the candidates nowadays seem to reference history and the constitution as a basis for shaping their policies.

Yeah... they gave you that neat little smart therostat for free. No alternate motives.

What if Ron Paul made a speech 13 years ago and none of that stuff has fundamentally changed due to the actions of Ron Paul?

Didn't see an Introductions sub, so I'll just post here. Hey everyone! Left another link agregator a while back, looking for a new place to hang out. I mainly post pictures of space, bad memes and make off color jokes.

Should have worked. I put the old site on maintenance mode to prevent any new sign ups or changes while I migrated the database.
Curious if anyone else experienced this.

Yep. I have Ramble's TOR address bookmarked. If anything happens, I can always use that. I wish more websites would do the same.

One cannot have a centralized point of control, otherwise they pass the buck for policing the content on to the admins.

No real grand plan right now. I'd like to use different software for the site, but don't want to lose the content that is already here. I'm not a developer, so just creating something from scratch isn't on the table.
Also, I'm not a huge fan of the name 'ramble'. I did this before I ever heard of rumble, and comically enough there is a 'raddle' that is on the same software. I called this place 'ramble' because I was going by 'rambler' on I2P at the time and it seemed fitting.... But the few I've talked to have advised against a name change.
For now, it is what it is. It's open and available. I'll pop in and moderate and share what I can. :)

Momentum can probably be rebuilt - depending on the determination and time available to the admin.
Any grand plan @Rambler ? Or are you just giving the place a shot of adrenaline to keep it alive for now?
Rambler wrote
Yeah, it's open source. It's built on Postmill. https://gitlab.com/postmill/

This. It's in my opinion that making your website available over Tor, I2P (at a minimum) is required for any website that:
- Wants to go above and beyond for protecting user privacy
- Has any controversial content.

Basically everything will need an alt-tech version or some kind of decentralized solution. Otherwise they'll cave to the censors.
