I've been working on this project since before [RAMBLE], in fact, you can say this site was sort of a proof-of-concept to a large, much bigger idea that I had.
So, what IS "INCOG.HOST"? Simply put, it's a web-hosting company. It offers people the ability to publish content and manage it easily while we make it globally accessible.
Here's what we do differently: We're all about privacy. We do not require any personal information to register, and we encourage the use of cryptocurrencies to pay for your service. We're also in talks with a gift card processor (you read that right) where we can accept a comically large amount of giftcards as payment. We don't want to call you on your birthday or mail you a Christmas card, we don't need that information so we're not going to ask for it. Create an account with as little as an alias, your preferred method of contact (email preferably, but Jabber/XMPP, I2PMail, ZeroMail, etc will suffice. Signal support soon, too) and a password.
"Okay, cool. But my web host already doesn't check my details so that's not very unique."
Additionally, we're doing something no one else is doing. We give you the opt-in option to have your website available not only on the regular ol' internet, but also available as a native service on the I2P and TOR networks. (Or just I2P. Or just Tor. Or any combination of the three networks)
Once you opt-in for the multi-network publishing, we'll register your yoursite.i2p address for you, and get you setup. We'll generate a free, random v3 .onion address for you as well. (If you want a vanity one, we can do that too, just contact us for pricing since it takes a lot of CPU power to generate them. You can also use your own I2P name or Onion)
All shared accounts:
- Are currently hosted in Luxembourg (More locations planned)
- Come with DDoS Filtering (clearnet only)
- Are hosted on a fast Apache+Nginx reverse proxy webserver
- I2P and TOR (and clearnet) accessible helpdesk and control panel
- Manage files, email accounts, MySQL databases, PHP settings, etc from the above control panel.
- Instant & Free SSL Certificates from Let's Encrypt
- Comes with guaranteed resources (No overselling, non-congested servers)
- Free opt-in to multi-network publishing.
We have an exciting roadmap of future products we wish to launch, including Virtual Servers in the same location(s) as our Shared Hosting service and Router/Relay/Exit hosting in many additional places.
Anyway, I've gone back and forth internally if I would keep the two projects separated or not. In the end, I've decided to just create a forum specific to INCOG.HOST so this is the only place I'll talk about it on this site. I'm not going to put a "Sponsored by" or "Hosted by" banner or link anywhere, namely because I feel like that goes against the core values of this website and secondly because this website isn't actually hosted by us yet. Once we get our VPS nodes online and performing how we want, yes, I'll likely move this site over to our own hardware, but for now, it's hosted elsewhere.
This forum is mainly for announcements / news / etc. Since we're not going to have a normal social media presence that most startups would have, we're going to stick with the 'social media' sites that share our core values. Which, for now, is this site.
