Hello anons! I'd like to create a live-only USB distro for the I2P network . It will be based on LMDE with the Cinnamon desktop environment and will be called LMDEI (Linux Mint Debian Edition I2p).

Currently in alpha development phase.

Included apps:

  • vim
  • nano
  • vlc
  • mpv
  • keepassxc
  • librewolf
  • bittorrent
  • kelopatra
  • metadata cleaner
  • wireshark
  • tor browser
  • openjdk24
  • i2p.jar file
  • and whatever I can't delete from LMDE

I'd like to uninstall some apps, configure a custom wallpaper, configure the firewall etc, but I don't know how to extract the OS into an .iso or .img file, so any help would be welcome (please comment below).

Cool project, but a live OS seems a little antithetical for I2P which is supposed to run like a router (24/7)

It can run 24/7 on a ramdisk. Plus it could be convenient if you have nothing else and you want to get in touch with someone over I2P, much like Tails does with Tor for a similar purpose.

A good bonus might be to include a couple of shell scripts to automate deploying a few things as well, and even keep those maintained as stand-alone, I surely wouldn't mind using those on virtual servers and contributing to such thing to automate deploying something like an FTP server or an email server for easy and convenient data exchange and communication.

What's stopping you from using Tails as a basis? Making your own from scratch sounds difficult for just a simple addition
